Servers back online!

So, somehow all the servers hard booted yesterday due power failure and because of this our databases got corrupted. After a long trip to the datacenter today and after hours of work i was able to retrieve all data without any loss. I am hoping that the power outage is not from our REMOTE power controller. I have not got any verification from the datacenter that the power problem was on there side. So we will continue to monitor the network over the next few days and hope that there is no hardware failure with our power controller. I appreciate everyone's patience during the downtime but sometimes things are just out of our control.

SERVERS OFFLINE Monday May 12th

There will be a scheduled downtime today for all of the Lineage 2 servers. The downtime should not last more than a few hours. We expect the downtime to start at roughly 1pm PST time (GMT -8). During this downtime we will be backing up all databases and performing software and hardware maintenance on the server boxes. Please be aware this has nothing to do with the upcoming Gracia final Upgrades. This is just routine maintenance session which will include security updates, operating system updates, software updates for our network. All your items and characters (and everything else for that matter) will be there once we finish this. Thank you all for your patience. We will see you once we are back online.

Servers BACK ONLINE march 12

All servers are back online. The network was down for aprox 4-5 hours. We appreciate everyone's patience while we solved the hardware problem. Please see the forums for more information about this incident.

We are currently experience some technical issues with one of our server boxes. We are working on the problem and will give more information when we find the cause of the problem. We appreciate everyone's patience while we get this resolved.

Sieghardt Update to Hellbound

The update will be October 2nd, starting at 12 Noon PST TIME.This will allow the Olympiad to end on the 1st, and the validation period to end on the 2nd at noon. The server will go offline and will be down for an extended period of time during the upgrade on the 2nd. We hope to have everything upgraded and done by no later then Midnight that night. But if all goes well, the server should only be down for aprox 2-6 hours. Please idle in our MIRC channel and we will keep it updated on that day with the latest news on the sieghardt update to hellbound. Click "MML2 MIRC" on the left side main menu to learn how to connect to MIRC

Network maintenance july 21st

We have received the following email from the datacenter head Technician

" Tonight we will be preforming an emergency router maintenance for our new router os vulnerability patch. All work will be completed before midnight, and there is expected to be some internet distruption. Maintenance window is below

Date: Monday, July 21,2008
Window: 8PM-12AM PST
Possible downtime: 10mins
"

So thank you for your patience. Should be back to normal in no time.

Servers offline June 5th

Some of our server will be offline until tomorrow. We have ran across a serious problem and I will be adressing it at the datacenter first thing in the morning. We apologize about the downtime over the past few days. I just hope everyone realizes that we are working hard to improve our network and sometimes to do that, takes time and a few speed bumps along the way. I greatly appreciate everyones' patience. We hope to have everything resolved tomorrow. I'll post news on MIRC when i know more.

Downtime coming on Thursday may 29th

As most of you know, one of our SQL servers has been throwing a fit for the past few weeks. We suspect it is a hardware issue with one or both of the drives in the box. We have ordered new hard drives for this server which has already arrived. We are currently waiting for the following equipment:

1 x LINKSKEY LKV-0880 8-Port KVM Switch 19" Rackmount
1 x SuperMicro Server (dual 3.6 Xeons, 8 GB ram, SCSI Raid 10)
4 x 15k rpm SCSI drives (raid 10)
1 x APC Rackmount AR8215 KVM 1U (Keyboard, Mouse, 15" LCD)
2 x 10/100 Switches
1x DLI Remote Reboot Unit

The reason we ordered this new hardware is because MML2 is expanding and moving our network to a new state of the art datacenter that was just built right outside of Seattle. We are currently going to be transferring our network/boxes to our own dedicated locked cabinet at this new datacenter. This will give me complete access to the datacenter at anytime of the day if needed without having to contact the company we go through. I'll have my own security card to the building and keys to MML2's own locked cabinet where our servers are located with 24/7, 365 access to the facility. This new datacenter is connected to 5 major carriers (meshed), which guarantees us 99.99% uptime. This should improve pings for everyone worldwide.

So what this means is there will be 1 day worth of downtime on the 29th of may, while we fix the box that is having hard drive problems, deploy the new server, and move the server boxes to the new locked cabinet at the new datacenter. The servers will be shutdown around 10am PST time and should be offline for most of the day. If all goes well, we should have them back online by no later than 8pm pst.

On a side note, the new server I posted above will be hosting some new game servers for MML2. It's not 100% what games they will be, but we are swaying towards a DOD Source, World Of Warcraft, Call of Duty 4, and/or a combination of these and a few other games we are wanting to add to our network. So stay tuned for updates about the new game servers once all the new hardware is deployed.
